Also, it would ensure that any water will not be absorbed by the wood of the shed which could cause it to rot and have to be replaced.
#3 - Entrance Orientation
It is vital that you make sure that you look at which direction the wind blows towards where you are planning to locate your shed. Then, using your hay barn plans, make sure that the doorway to it is placed on the side opposite to where the wind will be strongest. Not only will this ensure that the contents within the structure are protected, it is going to cut back the amount of wind loads placed on it.
